Open Letter Requesting Help From The Universe/God

I am praying to the Universe/God to help me!

Open Letter Requesting Help From The Universe/God

Need help with my rent increase.

When landlords try to take advantage especially if it is personal I feel I have to say something.

Today I received a rent increase from my landlord. The contract I signed was valid until the 1st of April 2023 and when I questioned what would happen after that period the agent said there would be a price increase.

I am currently paying £655 and my landlord has just increased the rent to £865

I have redacted the name of the landlord and property address for security reasons.

Maximum Rent Increase Per Year

Limit on annual rent increases 2022-23 (from April 2022) – GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

The Maximum he can increase the rent to is £164.87 for a 2-bedroom property which equates to £819.87 Let’s round it off to £820 which is a difference of £45.00 he trying to overcharge per month.

I checked the prices of flats in my area and this is what I found (Dated 30/03/23):

Tenant Requirement

I have never had an EPC report although my landlord tried to pass off the ground floor flat to be in the same condition as mine and I just handed back the report to the agent. I have never had an EPC inspection on my property, and although I may have one done privately, I have lived at the property for 24 years. I know I should have jumped on the property ladder years ago but things got in the way, long story which I will leave for another day.

I will not list all the things wrong with this flat but will just mention my previous articles about my concerns. I even published a page about Landlords & Tenants Useful links. I think my landlord and his agent friend think I was born yesterday.

This is the state of my walls and I have been told to just wash them down with bleach and soapy water. However each time I do it that it keeps coming back. Furthermore, my furniture is ruined as it also has black mold. I have now contacted ‘Rent Smart Wales’ and am waiting on a reply.

Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)

Tenants can ask their landlord to make energy performance improvements based on the EPC recommendations. (I have never had an EPC rating done in the whole 24 years I have lived at the property, although the landlord wanted to pass off the EPC certificate for the ground floor to be in the same condition as my flat).

I will calculate how much energy I have lost over the 24 years based on the report I am about to get. I do not trust my landlord to give me a report and I do not trust it will be legitimate.

My Meter Reading On the 1st of April 2023

Electricity: 21268

Gas: 2975

Since April 2018, unless they have been granted an exemption, landlords have not been permitted to rent out homes that have an EPC rating of F or G.

Cold

A cold home cannot be maintained at a temperature between 18°C to 21°C at a reasonable cost to the occupier. Living in cold conditions can cause serious health problems.

Landlords must:

    • Supply adequate heating in proper working order.

    • Ensure the property is insulated, meeting a minimum EPC E rating.

    • Repair broken windows and doors.

Tenants must:

    • Check if central heating (radiators or air vents connected to a central heat source, such as a boiler) is working properly.

    • If there is no central heating, make sure there is an alternative type of adequate heating throughout the property, such as storage heaters.

    • A low EPC rating indicates that your property does not retain heat very well and may be very cold during the winter. (I am not going to ask him to supply me with an EPC report because I do not trust him).

    • Ask your landlord to carry out some of the recommendations in the Energy Performance Certificate

Damp and mold

Damp and mold can cause or worsen respiratory problems, infections, allergies, or asthma. They can also affect the immune system, particularly in young children and those with certain medical conditions. Damp also contributes to excessive heat loss and puts up heating bills, as well as causing damage to build fabric and contents, including clothes and furniture.

Landlords must:

Tackle dampness including, if necessary, making repairs to the property’s structure and exterior (this includes repairs that are likely to be the cause of dampness and mold, such as leaking gutters)
Make sure that the property is properly ventilated

Tenants:

Look out for damp patches on walls and ceilings, mold, peeling wallpaper, and condensation on windows. Check the property is adequately insulated, heated, and ventilated, for example, ensure you can open and close windows securely

Electrical hazards

Faulty wiring and old, untested electrical installations can lead to fires, shocks, burns, and even death. Wired fuses or cartridges present a much higher risk and are a significant fire hazard.

Landlords:

    • Make sure that electrical installations and electrical equipment supplied is safe at the outset of the tenancy

    • Regularly carry out basic safety checks to make sure that the electrical installations and appliances are safe and working

    • Carry out safety checks on electrical installations at least every 5 years (I have had one check in the last 24 years).

Tenants:

    • Check that the lights turn on and off and check that plug sockets are not coming loose from the wall (The Electrical Safety Inspections should have tested all plugs and sockets – which they failed to do and emitted from supplying me with a copy f the report).

    • Check there are no frayed or exposed cables or wires

    • Check there are Residual Current Devices (RCDs) protecting all circuits. (An RCD is a safety device that switches off electricity automatically if there is a fault)

    • Try to minimize the use of extension sockets and leads as this can be a fire risk

    • If you feel you do not have enough electrical sockets contact your landlord or local authority

Chemicals and hazardous substances

Asbestos If Asbestos is present landlords should seek professional advice on its removal.

Tenants your landlord should seek professional advice on its removal. You should not attempt to remove it yourself.

Asbestos was commonly used in building materials in the 1950s and 1960s as a material to resist the spread of fire. It was also used in Artex predominantly before 1985. However, it was not banned from use in new buildings until around 2000. Materials containing asbestos are generally safe if they are in good condition but if broken or damaged can release harmful fibers and dust into the air. You can find out more from the Health and Safety Executive (HSWE).

In certain parts of the country, there is a risk to health from exposure to radon gas and you can find more details from Public Health England.
Lead from paint or water/waste pipes has the potential to cause nervous disorders, and mental health or behavioral problems. Paint with a high level of lead content tends to be found in older houses and dissolved lead is only likely in acidic (i.e. usually private) water supplies.

Health Issues

Because of this price increase, I can say my mental health has been affected. I am now going into a deep state of depression and to be honest considering I am supposed to be somewhat strong, I feel I cannot hold on much longer.

I document my health:

  • My landlord claims because of mortgage price increases he has had to increase the rent. Now let’s do the maths say his property is worth £500K and he has remortgaged the property say for 10 years he will have to pay just over £1000 per month but given the fact, there are two properties in the building and he already collects £1800 per month, increasing it at the expense of the vulnerable is unethical and immoral.

Because of my landlord, I am emotionally distressed:

Update

I plan to contact ‘Rent Smart Wales’  to get some advice before sending an email to my landlord and agent. I will also do some research and will add further information to the post including images to further help with my case.

04/04/23

I received a reply from Rent Smart Wales and this is what they said:

Dear Renata,

Thank you for contacting Rent Smart Wales.

Rent Smart Wales has been implemented to improve the standards of the Private Rented Sector by raising landlords & agents knowledge regarding the letting & managing of rental properties. We are not trained to give legal advice on legal matters between landlords, agents, tenants or third parties as this would be acting outside of our remit however, we always try our best to signpost customers to the relevant departments which may be able to offer assistance.

Please find the link for Fitness For Human Habitation Guidance: Property Conditions, as the Part 4 of the Renting Homes (Wales) Act 2016 sets out a landlord’s responsibility to provide dwellings that are safe and fit for human habitation.

In terms of EPC’s, since April 1st 2020, most rental properties in Wales should have an Energy Performance Certificate displaying a rating of E or above. If this is not the case, the property is likely failing to meet the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard requirements set by the UK Government.

Please follow the link for further information.

Rampaging energy profiteering.

“Rampaging energy profiteering”.

I cannot believe what I am reading “Centrica ‘has been coining it in from our massive energy bills’ and has seen their profits soar to more than £3 billion”. Centrica ‘has been coining it in from our massive energy bills’ and has seen their profits soar to more than £3 billion – London Business News | Londonlovesbusiness.com

The article continues with the quote: “Rishi Sunak should get a grip – pull the plug on rampaging energy profiteering, impose a meaningful, tough windfall tax, and give the NHS a pay rise with the proceeds.” Earlier this month Ofgem launched an investigation into British Gas following “extremely serious allegations” of debt collectors breaking into people’s homes to install prepay meters.

However, those that read this may not realize these companies work hand in hand with the government. They are shareholders in the federal bank and they get an annual dividend.

This boils down to one thing the greedy 1% do not care about humanity because if they did they would not start wars. This is just a big game of money and power.

I am angered that at the expense of the people, governments are making all this money but the big question is if we came to this world with nothing and we leave with nothing, why make so much money that you cannot take with you?

I think this article is better suited for people that may not necessarily be in business but ordinary folk like you and me. I find it totally disgusting that profiteering is going on whilst the rest of us have to suffer. There is a domino effect and consequences for our actions. If the cost of living and inflation has caused people to have mental health issues it puts more pressure on our NHS.

The 1% of this world should be less greedy and should help humanity not hinder it.

Imagine if we could activate kinetic energy as Nikola Tesla has led us to believe, imagine how we can finally start to get control of our lives.

These two videos are highly recommended to watch:

Poverty & Mental Health

The reason why people suffer from mental health issues, such as depression and suicide is due to society and the greed of the wealthy. Poverty is associated with volatile income and expenditures. The resulting worries and uncertainty can worsen mental health. https://www.science.org/doi/10.1126/science.aay0214

I blame certain entities and society for my mental health and depression in that I am an advocate on www.disabilityuk.co.uk which is an online journal for people with mental health disabilities.

They should help out the people on low incomes and not roll around in so much wealth whilst the rest of society suffers.

I agree that there are people on this planet that are simply lazy, yet want to have money fall into their laps for free, so these people should be forced to learn a skill and not just be forced into jobs until they are fully trained. Any able-bodied person can learn something and put their skills to good use and if they cannot find work they should be forced to start a business. They should be able to learn, teach and empower.

However, the rest of the population that is capable should not have to suffer at the expense of the wealthy.

What makes some people think they are better than others? According to egocentrism, individuals will overestimate themselves in relation to their self-worth because they believe that they have an advantage that others do not have, as individuals considering their own performance and another’s performance will consider their performance to be better, even when they are in fact equal.

Granted there are many skilled and talented people in this world but they should not earn so much that causes the rest of the world to suffer.

Wage Cap

As I write this article I read that politicians in the UK have just had a pay rise. MP’s pay has increased the salary of the UK’s elected representatives by £2,200 according to the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (Ipsa) said basic pay would rise from £81,932 to £84,144 https://inews.co.uk/news/politics/mp-pay-rise-2022-politicians-salary-increase-uk-tax-rises-energy-bills-1492279

This means the rise in fuel prices helps to pay their wages. Some politicians are simply pencil pushers stuck in an office all day and may have a modest following of people. I have a larger following of people than some politicians I know, so what makes them any better than me? Given the opportunity, I could do their job and possibly do it better than them, yet I am not on their salaries or even close, and I as well as the rest of the population have to suffer.

What about footballers and their weekly salaries for simply kicking a ball around on a pitch: https://www.spotrac.com/epl/rankings/weekly/ So you are telling me a footballer is more talented than a heart or brain surgeon who is paid nowhere near the salaries they are reported to earn. There is something seriously wrong with society.

There should be a maximum allowable income wage cap for millionaires and billionaires which would help pay off the national debt. It would need to be enacted coupled with an emergency deficit repayment fund. The cap could be set at 5 million per year, and allow a certain percentage of profits to help large and small businesses run. A person or business netted above the 5 million and profits could be funneled directly toward the deficit. Doing this for anywhere from 10-15 years before retiring would pay off our national debt and prevent the necessity of austerity measures.

“It makes me so mad that people have so much wealth, whilst others struggle to survive”.

Greed

Some people like the Oligarchs of this world who have accumulated wealth from atrocities such as corruption, w#r, etc are allowed to walk on God’s earth? These people that continue to bleed people dry, need to be brought to justice and need to pay back every penny that they stole.

My question is what are the governments doing with all the frozen money and assets?

I have my own theory but I guess we will never know. One would think that the confiscated money would go to reducing the national debt, however, no one is talking about it, which is really strange and which basically shows who controls the media.

The people that make a difference in this world, all should be wage capped.

  • The A-List Actors
  • The A-List Singers
  • The A-List Celebrities (Chefs, Influencers, Fashion Designers)
  • The A-List Sportsman (Footballers)
  • The A-List Writers (Authors)
  • The CEOs of Corporations (Board of Directors)
  • The Politicians
  • The World Leaders
  • The Bankers

No one should be so high and mighty to not have a wage cap, regardless of one’s status. If I was so wealthy I would live modestly and not flaunt my pink Rolls Royces or my wealth, I would help the rest of the world and make it known that I was helping. I would not be a snob.

Corporate greed is when a corporation puts profit above the well-being of any individual who works for it. The corporation also doesn’t take any social responsibility for its actions. There are so many ways ordinary and successful businesses and corporations out there seemingly suck the life out of people. https://kulturehub.com/corporate-greed-destroying-mental-health/

Privileged People.

We have a minimum wage (which is absolutely necessary) because if we didn’t the rich would take advantage and become even richer, hence there are rules and laws to prevent slave labor and to pay the bare minimum. However, the minimum living wage needs to be re-evaluated and the rich or people in power need to live on the minimum wage for at least six to twelve months to see if they can survive before preaching to the rest of us.

If this privileged MP Kit Malthouse is b#tching about how hard done by he is going to be, why does he not trade places with someone living in a council house for a year, living on a minimum wage, or worse still tax credits of £99.23 a week?

If someone cannot manage to live on a salary of £115,000 then there is something seriously wrong that they are not managing their finances properly and this deems the question of why not reduce overheads. If someone with a salary of £115K cannot manage, then how can someone with a salary of perhaps £18K live?

GREEDY PRIVILEGED PEOPLE!

A Tory minister (Kit Malthouse) on a £115,000 salary complained the cost-of-living crisis is hitting him “very significantly”. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/tory-minister-115k-complains-energy-26609743

Speaking in front of a burning fireplace in his home, the father-of-three told LBC Radio: “As you know, I’ve got children. They need to be fed and that cost is rising.

My fuel prices are rising quite significantly, and I have to say that in my constituency I’m on oil central heating still, sadly.” He added: “We are feeling it very significantly.”

Oh diddums!

OMG – Cry Me A River – What about the people on low incomes, how are they supposed to survive? What about the people who are self-employed that live off tax credits of £99.23 per week how are they supposed to live?

These people in power are unreal and need reality checks.

I am so sick and tired of hearing about people that have more money than sense.

The more people write about how the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer maybe it will eventually hit home, although I am not holding my breath. It is disgusting to read that people are so full of themselves and feel they are superior to the rest of us and that they can milk the rest of us dry.

All I have is a voice and a platform to write on and it will not stop me from campaigning to help the poor or the people with depression and mental health issues.

Even after my websites are gone I will leave a legacy behind and write it in my books. My words will linger forever.

Final Thoughts!

The reason why the world is the way it is is that the wealthy and elite have teamed up together from the government AND the private sector, to run up the national debt. It should be the rich and well-connected who pay back the debt that THEY incurred and not the poor that have to suffer not only poverty but ill health.

My question is the earth does not belong to any one particular person it is a place where we all have to live, so why is it that people think they can dictate, demand, and command when the earth does not belong to anyone? We should all live in harmony with one another and help one another not steal from each other. Elon Musk is building a colony on Mars so does that mean Mars belongs to Elon Musk? If people can make claims to the land, water, oil, and gas, then what is next, will there be a claim to the oxygen we breathe or the energy from the Sun, essentially putting a price on warm sunny days?

This is affecting people’s mental health and causing emotional distress. How many people will die from poverty, suicide, and w#r because of the elitists? They pretend to care but all they care about is themselves.

“I Blame The Greedy Elite For Trying To Destroy Everyone Else Who Is Trying To Simply Survive On This God Foresaken Crazy Planet, Full of Greedy People”.

I was going to put a paywall on this article similar to what a lot of online newspapers are doing as I would love to campaign and speak on behalf of people on low incomes, but cannot afford to do it alone on my own income as the majority of us are all in the same boat and we are all here to survive. I do have an advantage though I have a platform to put my point across and a large network of connections on LinkedIn connected to some very affluential people so my voice will be heard. I just need some support to be able to campaign further. If you can spare £3.00 this will go towards advertising and marketing costs. My next topic of discussion will be “How To Become A Billionaire”.

I will put the link below:

Passing The Buck.

Passing The Buck.

Buck passing, or passing the buck, or sometimes the blame shifting, is the act of attributing to another person or group one’s own responsibility. It is often used to refer to a strategy in power politics whereby an entity tries to shift the blame on another person or company. If you pass the buck, you refuse to accept responsibility for something and say that someone else is responsible.

I was about to blow a gasket.

I should have put it down to it being a Monday.

  1. So my first interaction was with an insurance company that wanted me to give them my card details over the phone without keypad encryption. They even went on to say that this was the only way I could update my details. When I refused they then miraculously offered a direct debit. I then referred to an article I had written about encryption because they were breaking the law without encryption. https://marketingagency.cymrumarketing.com/2021/11/07/telephone-encryption-to-process-payments/
  2. My second interaction was a pharmacy that will remain nameless and a local GP which I have written about in the past. So cut a long story short for the last few months my daughters medication which is on repeat prescription was not materialising so every month for the last 4 months or so I have been phoning the pharmacy and the GP and each time each one blames the other (Its not us it is them scenario). So today I phoned the pharmacy that said they requested the medication on the 12th even though I had phoned them on the 10th and they said my daughter prescription would be ready on the 12th. I usually get a text message to say it was ready but I had nothing. so I waited until today the 21st and I was told by the pharmacy to phone the GP and ask them to fax it over, which I proceeded to do. I explained the prescription was not ready. The GP said the pharmacy had not requested the prescription and they would get the Doctor to write one out but I had to wait until 16.00 hours. I then phoned back and they said they put a request for the GP to write a prescription and for me to wait for a phone call from them to say that they have faxed it. I waited until 17.13 hours and proceeded to phone them again. This was now my third phonecall and was told they had just faxed the prescription to he pharmacy. Excited at the prospect of finally getting the prescription I phoned the pharmacy who told me the first time round to tell the GP to fax the prescription….Now you have to wait for this because it unbelievable what I was told…The pharmacy said they received the fax but it is against the law to request a “CD” by fax. At first I did not know what this woman was on about, I did not ask for a CD (thinking it was a circular disk you put into a compter) and raising my tone told her so. She then rephrased her wording and said “it is against the law to send ‘Controlled Drug Prescriptions’ by fax”. OMG I was about to rip someones head off at this stage because the woman at the pharmacy at the beginning told me to tell the GP to send a fax and the GP after three phone call should have said they cannot send out faxes. So I proceeded to phone the GP who then blamed the person for being (NEW). The pharamcy said they would not be able to collect the medication as they were under staffed. None of it was my problem and when the pharmacist asked me to collect it I said I couldn’t, she sniggered and muttered something inaudible under her breathe and I could hear her say to her colleague “she can’t pick up the prescription, in a mocked tone”.

Obviously, the arse does not know what the elbow is doing.

It is the doctor’s responsibility to write out repeat prescriptions like clockwork without being prompted or reminded, ready for the pharmacies to collect. It is also the pharmacy’s duty to follow up on repeat prescriptions that are missing or overdue. It is not up to the patient to do their work for them.

In total, I made four phone calls to the GP (27 mins) and two to the Pharmacy (14 mins) and I felt physically sick sorting out their incompetence.

I ended by saying if my daughter relapses because she has run out of medication there will be medical negligence litigation.

So in total, I wasted 41 minutes of my time where I could have been working. But the saga will continue because tomorrow I will have to phone the pharmacy to see if they collected the prescription or not.

This GP has been on my radar for a while now. But I am also feeling anger at a Pharmacy that shows little respect to people.

If you work with the public you keep your opinions and your tone to yourself. You stay neutral and you do not let your thoughts filter through. You do not show you do not like someone and you never mock or judge them. Working in the NHS you have to show professionalism, your personal opinion has no room in the workplace.

I will update you in due course. I just had to let off steam as I was starting to feel unwell.

Note From The Editor.

According to the NHS website, prescribed drugs will be sent electronically to the dispenser you have chosen. You can collect your medicines or appliances without having to hand in a paper prescription. So the pharmacist I spoke to on two occasions was full of 💩.
